American Academy of Procedural Codes
AAPC provides education and professional certification to physician-based medical coders and to elevate the standards of medical coding by providing student training, certification, ongoing education, networking, and job opportunities.
American Health Information Management Association
The goal of effective health information management (HIM) is to provide quality healthcare to the public. Personal health information is a valuable resource to individuals, their families, and the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who provide treatment and care. HIM professionals reach out at the community level to share their knowledge of health information and medical records directly with the public to help them understand and manage their personal health information and improve the quality of their care.
Business Professionals of America
Business Professionals of America members compete in demonstrations of their business technology skills, develop their professional and leadership skills, network with one another and professionals across the nation, and participate in community service projects.

Dental Assisting Society
The Dental Assisting Society invites dental students to participate in fund raising projects to offset the cost of such items as membership in the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA), application to the Dental Assisting National Board Exam (DANB), the graduation pin, and social activities.
Future Builders of America
Future Builders of America is a local club with the Polk County Builders Association. Students interested in building careers have the opportunity to meet builders, participate in competitions, develop leadership skills, participate in summer internship programs, and apply for college scholarships.
Future Business Leaders of America
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a non-profit, local, district, regional, state, and national organization for all middle and high school students participating in business and business-related programs. In Florida, FBLA functions as an integral part of the instructional program of business technology education program in secondary school and Technical Colleges. This organization provides students with the opportunity to apply their classroom instruction in business practices and procedures to leadership development activities and competitive event experiences.
Health Occupation Students of America
HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA Partnership.
HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in HSTE programs. HOSA is 100% health care!
National Technical Honor Society
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is a non-profit honor organization for outstanding students enrolled in secondary schools, career and technical education centers, technical and community colleges, private occupational training institutions, and colleges with technical majors. Qualification for membership is based upon:
- A desire to pursue a career in the student's program of study
- Scholastic achievement
- Honesty
- Dependability
- Pride in work performed
- Responsibility
- Cooperation and ability to work well with others
- Interest in learning, initiative, leadership
- Citizenship
At least 50% of a student's program must be completed with a competency/grade point average of not less than 3.5 and an attendance record of at least 85%.
